Kuwait Petroleum Corp's Petroleum Training Centre (PTC) is set to take on a number of Yemeni cadets as part of a new skills expansion initiative.
Speaking to 26sep.net, Abdul Rahman Sabar, the director general of Yemen's Oil Training Centre, said the group had signed an agreement with PTC in Kuwait that will pave the way for greater cooperation between Yemen and Kuwait.
During his visit to the country, Mr Sabar was treated to a tour of PTC's training facilities, where he learned about the programme of study undertaken by oil and gas cadets.
Mr Sabar is also due to travel to Libya and Algeria in a bid to gain further first-hand experience of the oil and gas training industry.
According to CIA figures, oil export revenues account for around 25 per cent of gross domestic product in Yemen, and around 70 per cent of all government revenue. In recent years, the country has looked to boost trade by developing new oil and gas processing capabilities.
