The Kwara state government has given its backing to a new training and development institute to help prepare Nigerians for a career in the oil and gas industry and other sectors.
After a ten-week feasibility and consultation programme, the TTE Technical Training Group will submit conceptual designs for the new training and development centre and will also identify its core industry requirements.
Phil Blewitt, commercial business director of the company, commented: "TTE has a long established relationship with Nigerian industry delivering skilled technicians to the oil and gas sector, so we are very pleased to be given this prestigious opportunity."
He added that the consultancy will enable the state to determine and meet the needs of key industries in the area to ensure that students are offered practical and transferrable training and development opportunities.
In other recent developments, the company has also this month welcomed Keith Mutimer, a specialist in the oil and gas sector who has worked for both Shell and Tullow, to its group board.
