The Getenergy marketplace for western Africa will cater for the specific education and training requirements of this region to keep pace with the increase in oil and gas production activities.
Western Africa now faces the major challenge of developing the oil and gas industry with optimal local content and participation, whilst managing potential revenue from E&P activities and investing in national development. The average target for full local content participation in the region is between 80% - 90% by 2015.
The Getenergy for Western Africa programme will look at the local content goals and strategies of western Africa and will discuss the role education and training will play in employing the local population. The role of international collaboration in meeting these targets will also be discussed alongside the latest education and training programmes for the oil and gas industry.
On the programme of exchanges, you will hear from National Oil Companies from across Western Africa on the education and training challenges they are currently facing. Over the two days you will have an opportunity to put forward solutions and recommendations of how we can collaboratively overcome the discussed challenges and requirements. Speakers have been invited from Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Sonangol, NNPC, PTDF, Tullow Oil Ghana, GE Petrol, National Petroleum Agency of Sao Tome and Principe (ANP-STP), Halliburton, Esso Angola, Chevron Angola, Statoil, Total Angola, ENI and others.
