Maersk Oil has exceeded its Qatarisation targets and boosted the number of nationals working in the oil and gas industry by 30 per cent in one year.
In a statement made to the Peninsula, Fawzi Ali Al Ajji, head of human resources at the Qatari arm of the company, said that the company has also successfully doubled the number of Qatari engineers and the percentage of employees who are degree holders.
"We seek talented Qataris and we are ready to accept applications from those who feel they are qualified for a possible job in Maersk Oil Qatar," said Mr Al Ajji.
In addition to an active recruitment strategy, the company also hosts oil and gas training programmes for new and existing staff.
Mr Al Ajji claimed that Qatarisation is particularly import to support the development of the Al Shaheen offshore field, which is the largest field in the oil and gas rich country.
