In partnership with the Ministry of Oil, Getenergy Limited will run a two day workshop in Basra with the mandate to discuss and formulate an action plan to address Iraq’s local content and education and training requirements for its developing oil and gas industry.
This year and at the specific request of the Ministry of Oil, Getenergy has partnered with the MoO to convene a workshop in Basra to address the immediate implementation of training and education solutions to meet the needs of the Iraqi oil industry and its international partners. The workshop will provide a detailed analysis of the strategy, practicalities and implementation of Article 26 of the oil services contract and an official announcement will be given of the Ministry of Oil’s strategy for training and education. Throughout the two days, the workshop will bring together invited operating, contracting and services companies with selected universities, colleges and training companies from Iraq and internationally with the objective of formulating an action plan based on the direction provided from the Ministry of Oil.
Programme: The aim is collaboratively to address the following:
Group 1. Enhance existing resources and capabilities of the MoO Oil Training Institutes.
Group 2. Latest update on the development of Basra Petroleum College.
Group 3. Building and equipping of an Iraqi oil drilling school
Companies already confirmed include: Baker Hughes, Shell, Total, Resmodtech, Edinburgh International, Olive Group, Petrofac, Petronas, Exxon Mobil, Statoil, USI Capital Corporation, Sonangol, American University of Iraq, ENI and others.
