Missan Oil Company has confirmed that it will begin a clear-up operation that will remove war debris from oil fields located along the Iran-Iraq border.
Speaking to Aswat Al-Iraq yesterday (April 22nd), the company's media director Ali Abbas Sadiq confirmed: "In cooperation with the Defense Ministry's military engineering, Missan's Oil Company has developed a plan to clear some oilfields along the border with Iran."
Missan is the capital city of Amara and is a Shiite province. Its current production output is around the 110,000 barrels a day, with the company expectant that the clear-up operation will increase efficiency and oil flow considerably.
Earlier this month, Missan Oil Company announced its intention to ramp up production with the issuance of an invitation for tender to develop three fields in the province.
Last month, the company also drilled, reclaimed or explored four wells near Amara, Mr Abbas Sadiq told Aswat Al-Iraq.
