UK-based Mott MacDonald has been awarded a new engineering and training contract to provide support for the development of Blocks 9 and 27 of Safah, Wadi Latham and Khamila in Oman.
The new contract, awarded by Occidental of Oman (OXY), sets out terms for knowledge sharing between the two companies through the provision of oil and gas training programmes and engineering services in the field.
Vinod Shah, who leads Mott MacDonald's oil and gas team of 450 staff in Oman, said the company is delighted to have secured the contract in highly competitive bidding.
"Mott MacDonald has a long history of providing engineering services in Oman and we are committed to bringing our world class expertise and local knowledge to find the best solutions for OXY's benefit," he added.
Last month, Mott MacDonald also announced that it secured an engineering, procurement and construction management contract from Chennai Petroleum Corp of India to establish a new oil refinery in the Chennai region.
