There has never been a greater demand for well trained local workers in the oil and gas industry, Bahrain's National Oil and Gas Authority chairman has claimed.
Speaking to delegates at the recent Global Education and Training event in refining and petrochemicals held in the country, Dr Abdulhussain Mirza explained that global oil firms are becoming increasingly focused on providing oil and gas training courses for the local populace.
"Given the strictures of local content policies in many hydrocarbon rich countries, companies and governments are seeking to recruit, train and retain people living in the country concerned," he explained.
Commenting on the GET Energy event, he said the forum allowed for greater cooperation among industry players in delivering the oil training necessary to support robust development in the sector.
The training and development conference opened in Bahrain on November 10th and was attended by more than 250 specialists in the oil and gas sector from 11 countries.
