Nalco has acquired the substantial majority of all businesses and assets of Fabrication Technologies, the Wyoming-based injection and fluid treatment facilities specialist.

Following the acquisition, the company will trade under the name Nalco Fab-Tech and will now also offer onsite commissioning, start-up and operator training services.

"Nalco is now in a unique position to offer environmentally and economically sound solutions to oil and gas companies facing the challenge of using, treating and recycling produced water," the company commented in a statement released yesterday (August 23rd).

Nalco works with a range of heavy industry firms, providing leading water treatment and processing solutions that have helped thousands of companies improve their environmental, social and economic performance.

The company has more than 7,000 employees in its service, research and marketing divisions, providing support to nearly 50,000 companies in more than 150 countries around the world.

It has also recently supported the work of the Environmental Protection Agency as it investigates the environmental impact of the Gulf of Mexico oil dispersal campaign.
