Employees of the Dubai Natural Gas Company (DUGAS) are to benefit from a new training initiative aimed at enabling them to approach plant processing tasks more analytically, it has been announced.
Under the new range of programmes launched by training group TTE International, workers in the sector will be taught effective troubleshooting and fault diagnosis techniques, both at the Dubai Industrial Academy (DIA) as well as on site.
This latest initiative comes as TTE moves to form a close working partnership with the Dubai Industrial City with the aim of making the DIA the leading oil and gas training facility in the Gulf region.
Commenting on the new programme, Rashed Al Ansari, vice president of Dubai Industrial City, a member of Tatweer, told Processing Talk: "We are focused, through the training programmes of our academy, to increase the competence level of the operational staff and upgrade their working skills especially that they are working in a high risk gas industry.
"This programme reflects our objective of supporting the industrial sector by upgrading and training technical professionals working in Dubai and across the region."
The launch comes as work is due to begin on a new liquefied natural gas plant in the Jebel Ali region of Dubai.
