Triton Group is increasing its presence in the US oil and gas industry with the launch of UKPS Offshore in Houston.
A $2 million (£1.08 million) training and support centre will provide full remotely operated vehicle simulation and training for novice and experienced oil and gas workers.
"We have been heavily involved in providing personnel for many major and independent operators in the industry for the past 20 years," said Andy Stewart, general manager of UKPS in Lowestoft.
The facility was needed in order for the firm to continue to provide the same level of personal service, he added.
UKPS is also looking to develop into other key oil and gas provinces around the globe and wants to use its US base as a recruitment core from which it can expand.
Petrofac training this week signed a global agreement with Atlas Interactive to deliver e-learning courses to the international oil and gas industry.
