During times of recession, it is likely that training programmes will be hit by budget limitations along with other areas of operations, downstream training provider Noria has conceded.
However, the firm is urging companies working in the oil and gas industry, particularly the lubricants business, to remember that the skills erosion that comes with a reduction in training and development schemes will be of detriment to the company when the world pulls out of recession.
In a bid to support companies through this period of economic constraint, Noria offers self-directed online oil training modules which can cut down on travel expenses and provide access to learning outside of business hours.
Meanwhile, the company also offers facilitated online training focusing on oil analysis and machinery lubrication.
"Unlike the self-directed training, the facilitated training is provided live by one of our instructors using conference call lines and internet-based presentation tools," the company states.
The company also offers onsite training modules and streamlining courses for petroleum refineries and other plants.
