OPITO - The Oil and Gas Academy has completed the first ever internationally-accredited oil and gas training programme in Kazakhstan.
Working with training partner Abiroy Technical Training, based in Aksai, the academy developed a tailored technical training programme to help Kazakh workers find employment in the oil and gas industry.
A total of 98 trainee students have now graduated from the Petroleum Open Training course, providing them with a certificate recognised by employers in more than 15 countries.
Gordon McNeil, technical programmes director at OPITO, commented: "This is an excellent example of how we work with employers, independent operators and training providers to identify the individual priorities and challenges that exist in oil and gas provinces around the world.
Last month, OPITO also added the new one-day fireproofing training standard to its course offering, with the new module available as part of the three-day blaster/painter course.
Those completing the course will receive two certificates in fabric maintenance, providing enhanced career options in the offshore industry.
