Offshore Tech Academy (OTA) has unveiled plans to build an expansive new national training facility to support the US oil and gas industry, focusing particularly on offshore and remote field training.
In a statement, the company said that over the last 20 years, energy companies have come to recognise the ultimate value of safety training and accident prevention, particularly as upstream firms enter some of the most hostile and inaccessible areas in the world.
"OTA's projected mission will be to ensure it adds reliable, measurable, and affordable results to the oil and gas industry by providing up-to-date, quality training courses and publications to meet their client's needs," the company added.
The group will also build on-campus housing modelled on offshore accommodation in order to acclimatise new trainees to working in the oil and gas industry.
OTA maintains a commitment to reducing typical training costs for its clients, while also ensuring that all training is certified by internationally-recognised standards organisations.
