New courses are to be offered to students in Malaysia, including ones about oil and gas training, it has been revealed.
University College Sedaya International is to build a new campus as well as its own training hospital in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, with additional courses to be made available, according to the Star Online.
The proposed oil and gas options will be offered at the Terengganu campus at the university, where it is obligatory for diploma and degree students to do an internship every year, the website reported.
UCSI vice-chancellor and group president Peter TS Ng told the publication: "We prepare our students for work as we emphasise entrepreneurship and employability skills in our curriculum."
He added that the university wants to be a "complete university", while catering for niche subjects at the same time.
In related news, the BMI Malaysia Oil & Gas Report found that by 2012 the country will provide 1.96 per cent of Asia Pacific regional oil demand.
