A new centre in Ghana is to train those in the petrochemical industry, it has emerged.
The Centre for Petroleum Studies, it will supply training and research services for the oil and gas industry, with programs including an Introduction to Oil and Gas Industry, Fundamentals of Petroleum, Financing Petroleum Projects and International Petroleum Accounting, the Daily Graphic reported.
Technical advisor to CPS-Ghana Emmanuel Bentum told the publication: "Today, with a network of multi-disciplinary oil field consultants throughout the world, we are recognised as setting the standard which we can bring to bear on our oil industry."
He added that if the new centre is a success then there would be little need to look abroad for trained individuals in the oil and gas industry as Ghanaians would be provided with the skills and tools necessary to work in the sector.
