Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has announced its employees are to receive oil industry training in security.
Staff at Bapco are to go through a process to enhance their skills and knowledge at the year-long Security Enhancement Training Scheme.
Taking place at the Refinery Training Centre in Sitra, over 100 Bapco guards and officers participated in the orientation launch.
Both internal and external specialists in the field will educate the employees in two different phases, including an English language course, which focuses on improving communication skills.
The first stage will also cover mathematics and information and communications technology, as well as tips on improving efficiency.
Meanwhile, the second phase will see participants enter into training specific to oil industry security, such as quick reaction guarding and team leading.
Bapco's oil industry training and development comprises an "ambitious" human resource initiative to ensure staff maintain standards in keeping with new technologies and business demands.
