PetroVietnam has extended its ties with Russian oil and gas firms with the signing of three new cooperation agreements.
Viet Nam News reports that the country's party leader Nong Duc Manh paid a visit to the headquarters of Zarubezneft in Moscow yesterday to bear witness to the signing of the three agrements.
Speaking at the event, he said that Russia has displayed a long commitment to supporting the Vietnamese oil and gas industry, particularly with the provision of training and development initiatives.
As part of the new cooperative agreement, the two parties have pledged to bring the joint venture company Vietsovpetro into a new stage of development focused principally on the exploration of the Nhenhexky oil field.
Vietnam and Russia have enjoyed a successful partnership for more than 60 years, during which time they have cooperated in many areas such as energy, construction, agriculture and education, as well as tourism and cultural exchanges.
