Petrobas is participating in the Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference this week and will focus on central issues that the sector is facing, such as exploration and production.

Making production in the pre-salt cluster sustainable, the refining industry and progression in the biofuel market are just some of the topics that will be touched upon in 15 presentations at the Riocentro Conventions Centre in Rio de Janeiro.

The conference is taking place from September 15th to September 18th and a total of 35,000 people are expected to attend the meeting.

Rio de Janeiro is referred to as the Brazilian oil capital.

The state of Rio de Janeiro concentrates 80 per cent of the oil that Brazil produces and 50 per cent of its total gas production.

In 1982 the first edition of the Rio Oil & Gas Expo took place and it is now held every two years in the city.
