Petrofac has announced that it has been certified to provide a new five-day oil and gas training course in compliance with standards established by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
The course will provide students with specialist qualifications to comply with safety standards for both onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
Gordon Caird, the company's regional director for training services in Europe, commented: "The addition of this course is a real differentiator for us as few training providers in the UK have the competence and capability to deliver it."
He added that the course will offer comprehensive skill sets and practical experience to trainees, covering fire, health and safety, emergency response, marine, and hydrocarbon production and process operations.
After strong half-year earnings published earlier this week, Petrofac has become Europe's largest oil and gas services business by market capitalisation, overtaking its French rival Tecnip after a three per cent rally.
