Oil and gas training services are performing broadly in line with expectations, Petrofac has announced in a trading update.
The company confirmed that its offshore engineering and operations, engineering services and production solutions business units are also performing as expected, while tender activity has picked up considerably in recent weeks.
Petrofac also reported that its cash position has remained strong throughout the year to date, while a number of production milestones have also been reached in the Don field.
"Plateau production on the Don fields is expected to be achieved in early 2010 after commissioning of the permanent export route over the Thistle platform," the company stated.
Earlier this month, Petrofac Emirates announced that it has become a founding sponsor of the UAE's Higher Colleges of Technology after entering into a joint agreement with Mubadala Petroleum Services.
Hussain Al Ansari, chairman of the company, said that investment in training was vital in an industry with an aging workforce.
