Petrofac has announced that it will collaborate with the Surrey Science and Technology Regional Organisation to deliver oil and gas training courses in local schools.
Via a host of interactive workshops, pupils will be provided with a base understanding of the skills necessary to work in the energy sector, paving the way for the training and development of the petroleum engineers of the future.
Furthering this, the group announced that it had recently completed a two-day workshop at a primary school in Sheerwater aimed at providing young pupils with an understanding of IT data logging.
Petrofac is one of the largest employers in Woking and runs a robust graduate level training and development programme to allow local residents to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry.
Kerry-Kay Jones, one of the Petrofac ambassadors, said: "I feel privileged to be part of an organisation that has created an opportunity for me to give back to the community."
In other recent announcements, Petrofac has confirmed that it has won an engineering consultancy contract with the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Operations with a remit to debottleneck the onshore North East Bab field.
