Oilfield services provider Petrofac has strengthened its training syllabus with the launch of a new fabric maintenance module.
Opito - The Oil and Gas Academy has awarded accreditation to a new trainee blaster/painter course that the company has launched as part of the new training module, furthering its ongoing commitment to asset integrity.
Gordon Caird, Petrofac training operations manager for Europe and the Americas, commented: "In this climate, customers are increasingly focused on finding cost-efficient ways to maintain their asset's integrity. We are offering them just that while helping develop competencies and minimising risks."
He added that each new training module offered by the group is compliant with the Step Change in Safety programme, which aims to establish the UK as the safest place to work in the world in the oil and gas industry by 2010.
The consortium was established in 1997 with the aim of reducing the accident rate in the UK by 50 per cent.
