Petrofac has announced a strong operational performance during the second quarter of 2010, with revenues up 34 per cent.

Among the operational highlights was the award of a production enhancement contract for the Ticleni field in Romania, as well as a strong performance in oil training operations in Dubai.

Petrofac said the Ticleni contract will provide "the opportunity to establish a track-record in the provision of our services on a commercial model which we believe will deliver increased value for both our customers and the group".

The company added UK oil and gas training market continues to provide a strong source of revenue, although international investment in training "has been mixed".

Total revenue for the period across all operational sectors stood at $2.13 billion, up from $1.58 billion in 2009.

Earlier this month, Petrofac announced that it has also been awarded a $430 million contract to provide seawater treatment services to Kuwait Oil Company.
