Malaysian state-owned oil and gas major Petronas has invested large sums in establishing a training and development network that can provide career options for people of all learning habits.
Speaking to Bernama, Tengku Nasariah Tengku Syed Ibrahim, chief executive of the Petrosains Discovery Centre, one of many training and development hubs operated by Petronas, said the institution has helped to inspire three million visitors since opening in 1999.
Ms Ibrahim added that the training and development centre had also helped to enrich local lives through community outreach initiatives.
"The Science Action Team and the Creative Science for Schools are designed to inculcate the culture of an inquiry-based approach to learning, while the Teachers Fellowship and Petrosains Teachers Workshop help teachers to welcome questions," she explained.
Petronas also positions itself as a leader in innovative training solutions, with e-learning and multimedia resources commonly called upon as part of its Education and Training Masterplan.
