Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC) has won a "prestigious" award at the Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards.
The city won the Energy: Oil and Gas Award earlier this month after a panel of judges considered the candidates' attributes, looking at six essential fundamentals, one of which was the development and training of personnel.
Other areas that were looked into by the independent panel were innovation, commitment to safety and quality as well as business achievement and enterprise.
"The Energy: Oil and Gas Award' reiterates Ras Laffan Industrial City's importance in the world oil and gas arena in terms of investment, growth, export and transport," RLC commented.
Winning the award emphasised the position of RLC as one of the foremost players in the maritime and shipping sector as well as improving its stance as the energy capital of the world, the city claimed.
RLC is located along the north-east coast of Qatar and covers 106 sq km.
