The Resolve Maritime Academy has launched a new Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (Hazwoper) training module.
The training institute, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has opened enrolment for the new training programme, which is aimed at both new trainees and industry veterans in need of refresher training.
Course range from a four-hour first responder awareness module to a full 40-hour Hazwoper training course which is fully compliant with regulatory guidelines set out in 29 CFR 1910.120.
Resolve Maritime said the full course "provides comprehensive training for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites".
There has been a proliferation of Hazwoper training support since the Gulf of Mexico spill which began on April 20th after an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.
As well as providing extensive maritime and fire safety training, Resolve Marine has also developed expertise in marine salvaging, wreck removal and emergency towing.
