Rodeo Development has penned a deal with Drillers.com to provide engineering, logistics and management support for two appraisal wells to be drilled in Cameroon.

One of the wells is high pressure, high temperature and both are located in the outskirts of Douala.

Commenting on the new contract, Steve Devereux, a chartered engineer with over 30 years experience in oilfield drilling, said that the job requires specialist technical skills.

"These are technically challenging wells in an area with a history of gas kicks and some blowouts but with limited offset data," he said.

He said that careful engineering, detailed risk assessment and best oilfield practice would ensure a satisfactory result.

In addition to providing upstream engineering support around the world, Drillers.com also provides oil training courses to train workers to various skill standards.

The site currently lists training and development courses held by the Malaga Drilling School, which is accredited by the International Well Control Forum.
