SOCAR, the state oil company of Azerbaijan, has announced the completion of a new oil training programme that will deliver efficiency gains in the national oil and gas industry's operations in the Black Sea.
Working with the Kulevi Hypack Max Survey Software Company, SOCAR trained its staff in the use of RDCP measuring devices, which measure flow speed at different depths, wave height, water depth and temperature.
National news agency Trend reports that the company has taken delivery of two RDCP devices and has already installed one at a depth of 130 metres from the berth of the Kulevi terminal situated in the Black Sea.
Kulevi was brought online in May 2008 and has a total operational capacity of ten million tonnes of oil per year, including three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel, and four million tons of fuel oil.
SOCAR has also this month announced the completion of large-scale works to boost gas output to meet local demand.
