Saudi Aramco has appointed Huda Al-Ghoson as the new general manager of its training and career development operations.

For the latest step in her 28-year career with Saudi Aramco, Ms Al-Ghoson moves into the oil and gas training department from her position as director of human resources policy and planning development.

Ms Ghoson announced that she will focus on ensuring that young Saudis have the skills and opportunities to excel in an increasingly competitive environment.

"They should take the time to develop their technical knowledge and understand the business of their organisations. They need to pursue continuous self-development and be willing to venture in new territories," she explained, speaking to Arabian Oil and Gas.

Ms Ghoson joined Saudi Aramco in 1981 after completing a degree in English at King Saud University in Riyadh.

She has since completed a master's degree at the American University in Washington, as well as taking part in numerous career advancement training programmes hosted by Saudi Aramco.
