State-owned oil major Saudi Aramco has ordered a new security training simulation suite from Arizona-based VirTra in order to increase security at upstream and downstream sites in Saudi Arabia.
The sale of the multi-screen firearm training simulator is VirTra's third contract win in the Middle East and demonstrates Aramco's commitment to upholding optimum site security.
"VirTra's firearm training simulators are finding application in large companies that must protect their assets and interests, with our simulation technology enabling a higher standard in realistic security training for their personnel," said Bob Ferris, chief executive officer and president of VirTra Systems.
Earlier this year, Saudi Aramco also signed a landmark contract with International Center Company for Commerce Contracting to build a new upstream training and development centre in Dhahran.
The new 13,000 square metre facilities will offer enhanced technological training and fast-track courses to meet Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East's growing demand for petroleum engineers.
