Saudi Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding with Technical and Vocational Training Corp (TVTC) to promote new training and development opportunities.
Dr Ali N Al-Ghafiz, governor of TVTC, said that the new collaboration will help to improve the skills infrastructure of Saudi Arabia by integrating companies and major institutions into the training process so that workers are of the highest calibre.
Doing so will allow the two companies to ensure that the needs of the oil and gas industry and other key sectors are met.
Aramco and TVTC predict that the partnership will help to strengthen the framework for assessing the needs of national industries and tailoring training and development programmes to fit their requirements.
In addition, the pair will also work to increase employment opportunities for women in the kingdom.
Earlier this month, Saudi Aramco also announced that the company will build a new upstream oil training centre in Dhahran which will include 3D simulation equipment, classrooms, lecture theatres, break-out rooms, office and display areas and a library.
