Special needs students complete Enoc training in Dubai
More than a dozen special needs students have completed a vocational training programme hosted by Enoc.
Fifteen special needs students from Dubai have completed a vocational training programme organised by the Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc).
The National reports that the training programme focused on providing practical skills that will help the students to find work either at Enoc or other national companies.
Noaman al Saleh, who heads Enoc's corporate social responsibility programme, said the company is dedicated to developing outreach programmes for all segments of society.
"Through this programme we teach [the students] how to be involved as well as educating others towards accepting their contributions," he said.
Lima Ghulmi, an occupational therapist at the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, said the training programme affords "invaluable" opportunities for the students.
Elsewhere, the Abu Dhabi Education Council has selected 60 top-performing engineering students to undertake training in Dresden, Germany as part of the country's long-term goals to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil revenues.
