Norwegian oil and gas giant StatoilHydro is looking to enhance its presence in the UAE's oil and gas industry with a new upstream partnership with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), it has been confirmed.
Speaking to Gulf News, Statoil's chief executive Helge Lund said that the company is hoping to improve production yields and efficiency with a focus on technical innovation, sound business management and professional expertise.
"We are gradually building up our portfolio. We are interested in partnering with other companies to develop upstream fields and enhancing their output," he explained.
Earlier this month, StatoilHydro announced that a record number of apprentices have enrolled on its enhanced training programmes as the company looks to expand its international presence.
So far this year, 168 apprentices have been accepted on to the company's regional oil and gas training programmes.
