Engineering and construction firm Subsea 7 has become the first company to achieve accreditation to provide Opito's Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) programme for its staff.
The company, based in Aberdeen, will offer nine training and development modules covering topics such as risk assessment processes, handling hazardous substances, working at height training and workplace awareness.
Robin Davies, Subsea 7's vice-president of business improvement, said he was delighted to achieve accreditation from Opito after a comprehensive assessment.
"Great credit should be given to OPITO for developing such a comprehensive assessment programme to ensure that companies maintain the highest standards of training delivery possible," he added.
In other company developments, Subsea 7 has also this month announced that it has won a new contract with BP to provide engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning services for pipeline and platform projects in the Norwegian North Sea.
The contract is worth around $40 million (£24.4 million).
