Subsea 7 has launched and installed its 60th pipeline bundle with success, continuing its commitment to oil and gas industry operations in the North Sea.
According to internet resource Oil Online, the bundle consists of a 1.3 km pipeline in the BP Machar field.
It incorporates a 12-inch sleeve system which contains a dry-insulated eight-inch lined production pipeline, a three-inch gas lift line and a six-inch plastic lined water injection flowline.
The resource continues that in addition to this there are electrical power and signal cables and hydraulic and chemical controls tubing.
The bundle was launched on December 8th from Wick in the north of Scotland, while offshore operations were completed on December 16th.
Robin Davies, Subsea 7's North Sea vice-president, stated: "Subsea 7 has been using bundle technology now for over 30 years and it is still very important in both North Sea and international subsea developments, neatly incorporating all structures, valve work, pipelines and control systems necessary to operate a field."
Meanwhile, national news agency Bernama recently reported that the Malaysian government will use revenue from the oil and gas industry to channel investment into training and development.
