The Petroleum Geoscience Training Centre is enabling TNK-BP to ensure that it has a stable development of specialist talent to serve its operations, the director of the centre Mikhail Dvoynikov has told Oil and Gas Eurasia.
He explained that the company decided to team up with London's Royal Holloway University to deliver the new training centre because of its exceptional faculty professionalism and knowledge base.
Mr Dvoynikov added that there had been a number of pressing conditions that spurred them to build the training centre, with the furtherance of TNK-BP's core business objectives principal among these.
"The programme was developed to meet the demand among Russian oil and gas companies for highly trained, efficient workers, within multi-disciplined teams," he added.
The centre opened in October last year, with representatives of both Royal Holloway and TNK-BP cutting the tape.
Royal Holloway focused on installing similar workstations and applications to those available to its own students, enabling enrolees to work on standardised industry software.
