Insurance provider Texas Mutual has launched a new training suite to help the oil and gas industry maintain the highest health and safety standards.
The group is encouraging oil majors to visit their website to obtain guidance and training on safety issues such as conducting job hazard analysis, improving management safety accountability and carrying out accident investigations.
"We applaud the industry's commitment to eliminating workplace accidents and we recognise that to improve safety, we need additional resources," said Mitch Walsh, vice-president of underwriting services at Texas Mutual.
In developing the new training modules, the company paired its loss prevention consultants with regulatory and industry safety experts from the oil and gas industry.
He added that as well as reducing the number of workplace accidents, Texas Mutual is looking to address the behaviours that are the cause of such incidents.
The company also holds a regular roundtable at its offices in Houston to discuss best practice in workplace training with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Texas Oil & Gas Association and employers.
