A college in Texas is providing oil and gas industry training in order to boost recruitment into the sector, it has been reported.
According to the Graham Leader, North Central Texas College (NCTC) will introduce its second oil and gas programme class this autumn, giving pupils the skills needed to join the industry.
The college reports that all pupils from its first class who graduated last month have located jobs in the industry following their training.
Staff have worked with professionals and industry experts to develop their own curriculum after Encanta contacted the college to request new oil and gas industry training.
NCTC dean Emily Klement told the newspaper: "Every student that has entered the programme has received a scholarship from an oil and gas company.
"We've got companies competing for our graduates. We've got them calling from the Western Slope and all over."
Ms Klement added that the NCTC classes focus on training field technicians, primarily for employment at Barnett Shale operations
