Making sure employees in the oil and gas sector are well trained will become even more vital as oil becomes harder to extract, Honeywell has claimed.
The company, which helps companies improve operational efficiency using training and development software suites, has claimed that such tools have a growing importance for energy majors which are looking to lessen resource wastage and improve environmental credentials.
Frost & Sullivan has praised Honeywell's commitment to training and development in this latter field by awarding it the 2008 Green Excellence of the Year award.
Commenting on the gains made at refineries using Honeywell's products, a spokesperson for Frost & Sullivan claimed: "The ability to consistently run the plant against operating limits while preventing it from violating any constraints, including environmental, helps improve productivity and lower energy costs."
Honeywell prides itself on its ability to adapt to changing commercial and industrial conditions.
The company started out as a furnace regulation firm in 1885.
