Trinity Consultants, a Dallas-based energy consultancy group, is set to host a new online training session later this month to allow oil and gas companies to familiarise themselves with new emissions reporting standards.
All oil and gas companies operating in the US will be required to comply with new reporting standards and will need to file their first emissions reports with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by March 31st 2012.
"Under the proposed rule, many petroleum and natural gas facilities, from exploration and production through natural gas processing, will be required to report vented, fugitive, and flare combustion emissions from selected equipment," said Robert J Liles, principal consultant in Trinity's Dallas office.
This new requirement will be the focus of the online training course, which is due to take place on the morning of April 27th.
The EPA's greenhouse gas emissions reporting rules came into effect on December 29th 2009, with additional proposals made in March 2010 extending the scope of the rule to include the oil and gas industry.
