India's Triveni Engineering has established a new joint venture with GE Oil and Gas that will pave the way for new manufacturing projects and training programmes for the domestic and international market.
The new company, GE Triveni, will be headquartered in Bangalore and will focus on providing specialist equipment such as steam turbines for the energy industry, as well as providing training support for clients and partners.
John Flannery, president and chief executive of GE India, commented: "Our strategic alliance reflects GE's continued commitment to India and strengthens our local market presence through technology transfer, creation of local employment opportunities and continued investment in skills development and training."
Meanwhile, Dhruv Sawhney, chairman and managing director of Triveni Engineering, said the new partnership will give the company unprecedented access to international markets.
Triveni was established in the 1930s and has become a leading performer in the engineering sector through its focus on skills, technology and entrepreneurship.
