Tullow has confirmed that it will fulfil its self-imposed obligation to achieve first oil in Ghana by the end of the year.
Speaking to Peace FM, Dai Jones, the president and general manager of the Irish oil and gas major, said that the company is committed to delivering its promise to bring the first Jubilee wells on stream in December.
"All the necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth flow of oil," he insisted.
The company is also investing in oil and gas training courses to promote local participation in the country's burgeoning energy industry.
Mr Jones said that oil and gas training would be particularly important to ensure that local workers are able to excel in managerial and executive positions in the industry.
The company is also preparing to bring new fields on stream in Uganda and is maintaining a similar commitment to training and development both nationally and in neighbouring states to promote regional stability.
