The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has hosted a graduation ceremony for 36 managers who have completed its course in public administration skills, which will prepare them for work in Iraq's oil and electricity ministries.
Part of USAID's capacity development programme, the training courses lasted six months and covered issues such as supply chain, human resources and financial management.
"The Public Manager Cycle training has strengthened the capacity and professionalism of managers in line with the Iraqi Government's vision to modernize its public administration systems," said USAID Iraq director Thomas Delaney.
Since 2003, the company has invested more than $6 billion in development programmes designed to stabilise communities, foster economic growth and strengthen government infrastructure in Iraq.
The organisation also promotes long-term development strategies to encourage the growth of democratic institutions and practices in the country.
