Vietnam is looking to expand its oil and gas workforce to work at the first refinery in the country.
At the Human Resource Development for the Dung Quat Economic Zone in the Integration Period seminar held earlier this month, economists and managers in Vietnam were told that the Dung Quat Economic Zone is in need of skilled workers
It was argued at the meeting that training was needed to meet the demands for skilled labour at the plant.
Earlier this month, it was announced that PV Oil signed a $3 billion (£1.73 billion) contract to provide around 16 million barrels of flagship Bach Ho crude oil to the Dung Quat refinery next year.
Two cargoes carrying 600,000 barrels each will be delivered to the refinery in November or December, according to a PV Oil official.
He said: "The refinery will only use 100 percent Bach Ho crude in the first two years of operation under a contract with the French engineering contractor [Technip]."
