The Al Shaheen Well Services Co and Weatherford Oil Tool are working together to build a new training and development centre in Dukhan, with the inauguration set to take place within three months.
According to the Peninsula, the oil and gas training facilities will be situated within the grounds of the existing Qatar Petroleum training institute.
Al Shaheen's chief executive officer Mohammed Al Sayed commented that the new facilities will be open to Qatari students and oil and gas workers looking to expand their skill-set and develop their career.
"The Qatari programme will enhance the knowledge of the Qataris working in the energy sector," Mr Al Sayed added.
Qatar Petroleum pursues a Qatarization programme that has set a long-term target of achieving a 50 per cent national workforce in the oil and gas industry.
Although training is an integral part of this effort, the company is also investing heavily in strategic management of the Qatarization programme.
