Wood Group Logging Services has opened a new training facility for hands-on logging training.
The oil industry training centre will be used to educate operators and engineers in a number of tasks, including cased hole logging and perforating, production logging techniques and well log interpretation.
Well pressure control and field safety will also be taught at the facility, Wood Group states.
"Up to 60 engineers and operators will be trained this year, in situations simulating a variety of well conditions and types of completions," said president of Wood Group Logging Services John Paul Jones.
He added that this training will allow the firm to continue to offer safe and efficient onshore and offshore logging services.
Wood Group Logging Services falls within the company's well support operations, although the firm also works in engineering and production, and gas turbine services in a variety of global locations, including both the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.
