Oil and gas firm Yengho Ventures has launched a new training initiative that will allow 24 local students from the Warri North and South council areas of the Niger Delta state in Nigeria to expand career opportunities with new clerical and analytical skills.
Interns on the three-month training and development programme will focus on improving computer literacy in order to help them secure a stable job in the oil-rich region.
Jeffrey Wilkie and Tony Omabuwa, the managing directors of Yengho Ventures and partner training services provider M & T Computer Consult, told Vanguard that both firms felt a responsibility to reinvest in the region and promote national jobs in the oil and gas industry.
Elsewhere in the country, the Indian National Thermal Power Corp has also recently signed a memorandum of understanding with state authorities to set up a new training institute in the country.
