Impressive line-up to head IP Week 2008
An impressive line-up of international speakers head up the 94th International Petroleum (IP) Week, to be held 18 – 21 February 2008 in London. Organised by the Energy Institute (EI), the 4-day programme opens with the Peter Ellis Jones memorial conference which examines how the national and international oil companies are facing the challenges of investment in new technologies, development of skills and new infrastructure through innovation and collaboration.
Over 2,000 executives from the international energy industry are expected to attend and participate in the series of events which covers a wide range of topics including:
• Russia and CIS – an update on supply
• The energy industry’s skills shortage: implementing the solutions
• Hot or not? The outlook for the refining and asset market
• 21st Energy Price conference
• Upstream – the final frontiers?
• Spotlight on India
• Effective leadership on process safety in the downstream oil industry
• Biofuels – the devil is in the detail
• LNG – supply, markets, developments and trends
The IP Week lunch, which will take place on Tuesday 19 February, is to be held at The Dorchester and will feature Sarthak Behuria Hon FEI, Chairman, Indian Oil Corporation, as the keynote speaker.
Andrew Gould FEI, Chairman and CEO, Schlumberger, will be the Guest of Honour at the prestigious IP Week dinner to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 20 February, with Andrew Marr, BBC journalist and broadcaster, providing light relief as the after dinner speaker.

Media registration at IP Week 2008
The EI welcomes journalists and media to IP Week 2008 conferences and seminars. Registration for journalists at IP Week is free but places are strictly limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Media representatives are therefore encouraged to pre-register by the closing deadline of Friday 8 February 2008 to gain complimentary access to these sessions.
