Happy New Year and best wishes for 2010!
As anticipated in previous communications the years ahead are going to be challenging and the leaders of the oil and gas industry will be those with the right people, skills and technologies in order to meet global energy demands.
I would like to bring your attention to our next global meeting taking place from the 23rd – 24th March 2010 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.
The programme will be looking to analyse the training requirements of 10 major E&P oil and gas projects from around the world. These exchange sessions will look to answer 5 key questions:
1. What are the education and training requirements of the project for the next 5 years?
2. How are the education and training requirements currently being met?
3. What are the opportunities for the third party providers?
4. Who is the project manager, who holds the budget for training the workforce and how can providers access business?
5. What innovative methods have been used to address the skills challenges faced?
The 10 major projects we aim to focus on are: Kikeh Development, Santos Basin – Tupi Field, Kashagan, Pearl Gas-to-Liquids (GTL), Khurais Oil Field, Syncrude Project, Athabasca Oil Sands, Gorgon Project, Ghadames Basin, Rumaila Field, Akpo Deepwater Oil Field.
